Vision
To see disadvantaged communities overcome the problems of their poverty
and build a sustainable self-development system in Ethiopia.
Mission
- FCE works with disadvantaged communities regardless of sex, creed
or religion in order to enable them take more control of their lives
with particular focus on women and children.
- FCE aspires to make a positive contribution to the voluntary sectors
and policy framework and thus to the development of Ethiopian civil
society.
Goal
- To enable disadvantaged communities to work towards their better
livings through the utilization of their own resources, skills, experiences,
and minimum external support.
Objectives
- To create opportunities for communities access to education, information,
technical know how and improved decisions making on matters that affect
their immediate and long term living conditions.
- To promote alternative community based childcare system for neglected
and street children within the family and community set up and put an
end to orphanage system.
- To facilitate technical know- how and job creation for unemployed
youth in the urban and rural areas towards their self-help.
About FCE
- FCE is established in Ethiopia in the year 1997. FCE was registered
at The Ministry of Justice with registration number 039 and signed operational
agreement with Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission (DPPC)
and with all other relevant government organizations FCE is operational
in two regions of the country, Oromia and Amhara.
- FCE supports and work with the communities to be able to tackle the
root cause problems behind their poverty and misery. The organization
thematic interventions focus on improving the living condition of disadvantaged
women and children. FCE creates economic and organizational opportunities
for the communities it is working with
